MINORS: Potential AL September call-ups

The beginning of September is historically an exciting time. Kids are headed back to school and football season is starting. For baseball fans, September 1 is the time for roster expansion. Cellar dwelling clubs may call upon some of their top prospects to inject excitement and enthusiasm while fans of contending teams may look forward to prospects that could potentially supply depth as pinch hitters, defensive replacements, relievers, and third catchers.
This column will focus on American League prospects who could play vital roles down the stretch. We've grouped them into two categories: Those that could make a September impact, and those that are more likely to find a role in 2013.
