MINORS: How does age relate to power growth potential?

Carter Jensen (C, KC)

As young batters grow into their adult bodies and develop muscles, they begin to unlock more raw power in the batter’s box. Batters with projectable frames are projected to add more muscle to their bodies as they age, while batters with “filled out” physiques have less room to add on. Evaluating a player’s body type at a young age is useful for projecting power, but it can be difficult to know when a player has reached their adult body. Not every batter sees power gains year after year, and eventually their power begins to recede as Father Time always wins. So at what ages do batters tend to grow into power, and when do they tend to stop?
