MINORS: Examining the 9E prospect

At First Pitch Arizona last November, several BaseballHQ.com writers participated in a discussion about the grading scale we use for evaluating players on the BHQ website and in our book, the 2019 Minor League Baseball Analyst (MLBA). Our grading scale, developed by Deric McKamey, former lead BHQ prospect writer and current St. Louis Cardinals scout, is different from the traditional 20-80 grading scale scouts and other media outlets use.
