MINORS: 2012 Top 100 Prospect Recap: Risers

With the 2012 minor league season winding down, it's a good time to re-assess. Every year, multiple media outlets spend time and energy compiling a list of players they deem to be the next impact players in the big leagues. Here at BaseballHQ.com, our 2012 Top 100 Prospects list was published on January 20. And every year, players rise and fall from these rankings as the season goes on.

For the next two weeks, our minor-league writers will examine a group of players that both exceeded our expectations (this week) as well as those that fell short (next week), and along the way, attempt to provide some insight as to the "why?" question.
