Before 2014, Shreve’s most notable attributes may have been his brother, Colby Shreve (RHP, ATL), and that Bryce Harper (OF, WAS) was his battery-mate at JC of Southern Nevada, from where he was drafted in the 11th round of the 2010 draft. He worked with okay velocity when drafted, but took the advice of Hall-of-Famer Tom Glavine, who advised him to spot the ball instead of using his velocity, and the strategy worked for him until he reached AA-Mississippi.
