After nearly being dealt to Oakland at the trade deadline, the 24-year-old is back in the majors - he had 35 AB with the Red Sox in '10. Anderson is a tall and strong hitter who combines a patient approach with a smooth, balanced lefty swing to produce moderately-high BA potential and average to slightly above average pop. He has the strength for power, but can be too passive at the plate. He produces more line drive power than long ball pop as he focuses on line drives to both gaps. Anderson's power hasn't developed as much as expected, but he showed more in the second half of '11. Because of his passive nature, he often allows hittable balls to go by....
