The Tigers recalled the 26-year-old from Triple-A and he’ll serve in a middle relief role. Ferrell has spent his entire career in the Detroit organization and even pitched in nine games in the majors in 2015. He was drafted in the 26th round in 2010 and has spent the majority of the last three seasons in the bullpen. After a promising 2015 season, Ferrell had a shoulder ailment in 2016 which caused him to miss the majority of the season. He was released in mid-August, but returned to Detroit a few weeks later after he was unable to land a contract elsewhere....
