SPECULATOR: Searching for the next Wil Myers

An annual preseason rite here in the Speculator space is identifying a breakout performance from the previous season, and constructing a profile that might help identify candidates who could take a similar step up in the current year. It’s always a fun exercise—and we always find a few hits along the way. Last year's candidates for "The next AJ Pollock" included 2016 outperformers Brad Miller, Roughned Odor, and Stephen Piscotty.

For this year's subject, we'll use Wil Myers (1B, SD). The first thing we need is a profile that mirrors what Myers looked like entering 2016. Broadly, Myers was a former top prospect, entering his mid-20s, who had less than a full season of AB in the immediately-prior season, but showed a broad base of skills...
