SPECULATOR: Playing with filters

Earlier this year, we ran a column highlighting the trove of information on our Leading Indicators page. It's an extremely valuable (and often underused) tool that uses skills filters to identify surgers, faders, and top skills by category. It's worth a weekly glance, at a minimum.

We'll expand on that concept this week with an alternative set of filters—with deeper metrics such as hard-hit skills for hitters (HctX, xPX) and sub-indicators for pitchers (FpK, SwK)—to not only help with stretch run/trade targets, but to also guide early outlooks for 2020.

This week's leaderboards are all drawn from the year-to-date files on our Stats and Projections page. Players with commentaries are in bold; all stats are through Sunday, August...
