GM's OFFICE: Late-season standings flips

Logically, as it gets later in the season, it should be harder to make a dramatic change in your league standings. A couple of months ago, I chronicled the surge of my NFBC team. That kind of run up the standings is rare enough in June, but come August it should be just about impossible. The bases of stats in each category, especially the denominators in the ratio categories, are too significant to allow for that kind of movement.

But in watching recent developments around MLB, it occurs to me that there is a lot of new talent (and value) emerging here in the late season: recent callups like Gary Sánchez, Trea Turner, and Alex Bregman are providing significant value.
