DR HQ: Richards and veteran pitchers land on the DL

Garrett Richards (RHP, LAA)
Injury: Torn patellar tendon – left knee. If there is any good news with this injury is where the tendon was torn. It is in an area where it will be easy to repair and it should help shorten his recovery time a bit.
DL date: August 21
Estimated DL time: Out for 2014.
Estimated 2014 effect upon return: He is out for the 2014 season and he’ll likely start the 2015 season on the disabled list.

Homer Bailey (RHP, CIN)
Injury: Sore right elbow
DL date: August 8
Estimated DL time: The Reds first thought skipping a start would be enough time for his elbow to rebound. Now it is not known when he will throw again. He has a pending second opinion on his elbow and we’ll know more then. He is out indefinitely...

Almost!
