Estimated DL time: Unknown. The Mets are going with the rest-and-rehab option. If he struggles once he starts throwing again, or reports more pain, his season is likely over.
Estimated 2013 effect upon return: If he returns, he is likely to lose a lot of effectiveness.
Jason Vargas (LHP, LA)
Injury: Blood clot, left arm. Seeing a specialist on June 24 to determine treatment.
DL date: June 18
Estimated DL time: If blood thinners don't clear up the blood clot, then surgery will be discussed. If he needs surgery, he’s likely done for the year.
Estimated 2013 effect upon return: Unknown at this time.
