Injury: Herniated disc, thoracic spine (mid-back)
DL date: June 28
Estimated DL time: He’s received an epidural to help ease the pain and help the healing process. He is out indefinitely until he tests out his back in light workouts.
Estimated 2014 effect upon return: Unknown at this time due to the complexity of the injury and location.
Jhoulys Chacín (RHP, COL)
Injury: Strained rotator cuff, right shoulder
DL date: June 29
Estimated DL time: He went from having issues getting lose before starts, to shoulder soreness, to the strained R/C. The MRI revealed some fraying of the rotator cuff. Odds are he’ll be shutdown with surgery a strong option.
