Injury: Torn ligament, right thumb, plus surgery
DL date: July 10
Estimated DL time: Projected to miss 8-12 weeks. He’s tough as nails but it's hard to see the Cardinals rushing him back early. He’s close to being out for the year.
Estimated 2014 effect upon return: Unknown at the moment.

Brandon Phillips (2B, CIN)
Injury: Torn ligament, left thumb, plus surgery
DL date: July 10
Estimated DL time: Likely 8-12 weeks even though some reports say six weeks. He is close to being out for the year. If he does return, it will be briefly in the later part of September.
Estimated 2014 effect upon return: Likely out for 2014

Injury: Right elbow inflammation
