Virtually all fantasy owners are aware of the annual MLB Futures Game, which was played just over a week ago. And with only a few days of major league action having taken place since the last edition of PT Tomorrow, this is a great time to take a detailed look at the NL East prospects who participated in the Futures Game.
The Mets’ top prospect, Andrés Giménez (SS, NYM) had a forgettable Futures Game (0-2 and ground into a double play in the eighth inning) but has had a solid season in the Florida State League. The 19-year-old hit .282 while showing a bit of pop (six homers) and plenty of speed (28 steals). And he has now been promoted, making him one of the youngest players at the Double-A level.
