DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: AL West—OAK 1B status

Thanks to a torrid 2012 2H, Brandon Moss (1B, OAK) entered 2013 as the regular 1B. But there were questions stemming from his 66% ct% and an outlier performance vs. LHP . There's never been any doubt about his power, as he's proving again with a 124 PX and seven HR over his first 161 AB. But his contact rate is an even lower 63%, and he's nearly hopeless once again vs. lefties, as indicated by 22 Ks over 42 AB and a .167 BA. His 13% bb% and .252/.366/.462 line vs. RHP is keeping him in a platoon, but a poor May overall (.153/.238/.333 in 72 AB) raises a red flag going forward.
