NEWS: The A’s activated SS Jacob Wilson from the 10-day IL and optioned C Brian Serven to the minors.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: Wilson spent the minimum time on the IL with thumb inflammation. He’ll reclaim his previous role as the everyday shortstop, which will shake up the A’s lineup. Alika Williams had been filling in the six hole, but will head to the bench with the return of Wilson. At third base, Joshua Kuroda-Grauer will see everyday PT as he’s quickly established himself in the majors. He’ll shift to second base against lefties to platoon with Jeff McNeil, allowing Max P. Muncy to get into the lineup at the hot corner. With Serven gone, Jonah Heim will handle backup catching duties by himself.
