Stanton’s return has created a bit of a logjam at both first base and in the outfield. At first, Ben Rice may retain the bulk of the starts against right-handed pitching, given his superior performance (.814 OPS) to Paul Goldschmidt (.673 OPS). But Goldschmidt has tattooed lefties (1.208 OPS) and should retain those starts, especially given Rice’s struggles (.635 OPS).
