NEWS: Chicago recalled 3B Matt Shaw from AAA-Iowa and designated IF Nicky Lopez for assignment.

BHQ SPIN: After struggling out of the gate for Chicago, Shaw was sent to AAA for a reset which included some slight mechanical changes. About a month later, Shaw is now back with the big league club after hitting well in his stay at AAA (.286/.409/.560 in 110 PA). Shaw should have considerable runway to get regular at-bats at third base upon his return, especially considering how poorly Chicago’s third basemen performed while he was in AAA (.184/.271/.222 in 177 PA).
