NEWS: Max Scherzer’s return officially shifts RHP Dane Dunning to the Rangers bullpen — at least for now.

BHQ SPIN: When Scherzer’s return (which will be on Sunday, June 22) became apparent, we speculated in this space about who would likely drop from the rotation, with the likely choices being LHP Andrew Heaney and Dunning. Mgr Bruce Bochy made it official, telling the media that Dunning would be the man headed to the ‘pen. Dunning pitched well in relief for the Rangers in 2023, and the club feels his stuff works well in that role. So we’ve docked some IP from Dunning’s overall projection and distributed them among the Rangers’ “bubble” SPs – Heaney and RHPs Michael Lorenzen...
