Story is expected to be Boston’s starting shortstop for the final three weeks of the season, with Ceddanne Rafaela shifting over to second base, which will largely dry up opportunities for the other middle infielders on the roster — Enmanuel Valdez, Nick Sogard and Romy González — one of whom may well be demoted to make room for Story.
