Ragans elbow trouble, plus impact activations and callups for the weekend

NEWS: RHP Carlos Estévez and LHP Cole Ragans are both dealing with new injuries.

BHQ SPIN: Estévez looked to be nearing a return and an attempt to regain Kansas City’s closer role as he began a rehab assignment on Wednesday. However, Estévez left the outing and was diagnosed with a right rotator cuff strain. He will be shut down for the next three weeks before being reevaluated. Estévez’s continued absence should extend Lucas Erceg’s run as Kansas City’s closer. Things look solid for Erceg on the surface, as he’s converted 10 saves compared to only two blown saves and has a 3.52 ERA. Erceg’s skills, though, (4.8% K-BB%, 8.4 SwK%) show that things could unravel at any time....
