NEWS: LHP Carlos Rodón signs a six-year, $162 million contract with the Yankees.

BHQ SPIN: In terms of the depth chart with which New York finished the 2022 season, Rodón essentially replaces RHP Jameson Taillon (RHP, CHC), who departed in free agency and should represent an upgrade, even as successful as Taillon’s return from 2020 Tommy John surgery has been. Rodón may have a bit more of a flyball tilt than other aces, and that might be a slight issue in the move from San Francisco to the Bronx, though the right field short porch in Yankee Stadium is generally more of an issue for RHP facing lefties.
