NEWS: The New York Yankees activated RHP Luis Severino (lat) from the 15-day injured list Sunday, May 21.

BHQ SPIN: Aside from falling one out short from qualifying for a win in his 75-pitch outing, Severino’s return was a success (4.2 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 5 K). Health-wise, it should be onward and upward from here for Severino. In a corresponding move, RHP Jhony Brito was optioned to Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Brito’s demotion hardly comes as a surprise. After some success in his first two starts, Brito found the sledding considerably tougher as time moved on, with PQS-DIS in three of his last four outings.
