NEWS: Miami optioned Eury Pérez to the minors, added relievers Robert Garcia and Sean Reynolds, and DFA’d Jeff Lindgren.

BHQ SPIN: The Marlins have said that they want to limit Perez’ innings, so this move is very likely part of that effort. Expect him back around the time he’s eligible to be recalled. We had been expecting the Marlins to do something like this at some point this season, so Perez’ playing time is not being impacted by the trip to the minors. Neither Garcia nor Reynolds have previously pitched in the majors.
