PT TODAY: Paddack sets sights on 2024 rotation spot

Twins

NEWS: Minnesota activated RHP Chris Paddack (elbow) from the 60-day injured list and optioned RHP Josh Winder to Class AAA St. Paul.

IMPACT: Medium

BHQ SPIN: Paddack most likely will work out of the bullpen for MIN and should factor into a postseason roster spot after returning from Tommy John surgery. Paddack has been stretched out a bit, so it’s possible he could make a start or follow an opener should the Twins go that way. In three minor league appearances, Paddack tossed a total of 9.2 innings; he struck out 15 of the 39 batters he faced. Reports say he topped out at 98 mph, faster than any pitch he’s thrown in the majors. Paddack should be in the mix for a starting rotation spot in 2024.
