Tampa Bay Rays OF Desmond Jennings will be released Saturday, Aug. 27. Jennings is currently on the 15-day disabled list with a bruised left knee.  Source: The News and Observer
 
BHQ take: The Rays decided they could wait no longer on the seemingly chronically injured Jennings (211 DL days over the past three years), so they replaced him on the roster with the recently concussed Nick Franklin, who completed his 7-day protocol and a one-game rehab assignment. Jennings had recently been cleared to play catch and take dry swings, but not to run, so it is unclear...
