BHQ take: According to the D.C. media right after the announcement was made, the Nationals don't expect Ross to pitch in the majors until 2019. That would essentially replicate the time table the team used when Stephen Strasburg had his Tommy John surgery. In the meantime, Washington needs another starting pitcher.
