Updating previous reports, Tampa Bay Rays RHP Brent Honeywell (elbow) has a torn ulnar collateral ligament, and he has been recommended to undergo Tommy John surgery.  Source: Tampa Bay Times - Marc Topkin
 
BHQ take: Terrible news for Honeywell, who plans to have the surgery as soon as possible. This will delay his MLB debut until sometime in 2019, assuming he fits into the standard TJS recovery timeline without any setbacks. This will also likely elevate Jose DeLeon to "sixth starter" status, despite only twirling 41 combined innings in an injury-filled 2017....
