Royals | Kris Medlen has rotator cuff injury
Kansas City Royals SP Kris Medlen (shoulder) is dealing with right rotator cuff inflammation. His 15-day disabled list stint is retroactive to Wednesday, May 11. Manager Ned Yost said both Medlen and SP Chris R. Young (forearm) should be able to return when they're eligible to come off the DL. SPs Dillon Gee and Danny Duffy will serve as fill-in starters in the meantime. Gee will throw against the Atlanta Braves Saturday, May 14, and Duffy will go Sunday, May 15. Duffy will begin on a 50-pitch limit.  Source: The Associated Press
