PT TODAY: With Cortes out, could Brito return for Yanks?

NEWS: New York Yankees LHP Nestor Cortes has been dealing with an unspecified shoulder injury in between starts and is likely heading to the injured list, manager Aaron Boone said on Sunday, June 4.

IMPACT: Medium

BHQ SPIN: The team did not immediately announce Cortes’ replacement in the rotation, but candidates include RHP Jhony Brito, who has a 5.15 xERA through 10 appearances (nine starts) with the Yankees this season, or RHP Randy Vásquez, who held his own in his major league debut May 26 (4.2 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 6 K) but who owns a 5.13 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in 10 starts for AAA-Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. In other words, neither is likely to offer fantasy managers much help.
