Volatile Liriano gets a timeout

After a terrific spring training that saw him record a 33/5 K/BB, zero HR and a 2.33 ERA in 27 IP, Francisco Liriano (LHP, MIN) has lived down to the worst fears of his fantasy owners, and then some.  After four starts—none of which have lasted more than five innings—the volatile Liriano is now sitting on an 11.02 ERA, a 7.16 Ctl and a 1.7 hr/9.  After morning rumors of a status change were fueled by comments from Mgr Ron Gardenhire and the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Twins announced late Monday that Liriano will skip a turn in the rotation this week, in the hopes some side-work and the time off will help clear his head in time for his May 1 start vs. LAA.  With Nick Blackburn...
