Rauch emerging as saves option in murky NYM closing mix?

The NYM closing mix has become increasingly murky in recent days, with Jon Rauch (RHP, NYM) recording NYM's two most recent saves, August 12 and 16. Each of those two saves were of the one-out variety, with Rauch summoned to preserve dwindling leads in games which did not present closing situations entering the 9th inning. 

With a sub-1.00 WHIP, 3.12 ERA and 81 BPV, Rauch has been one of the few bright lights in a largely dim bullpen. Though he has spent the season primarily in a setup role, compiling 12 holds, Rauch has closing experience. He has notched 55 saves in the past five seasons, but has yet to hold a closer role for an entire campaign.
