TOR acquires pitching help in 10-player trade

TOR has added starter J.A. Happ (LHP, TOR) and relievers Brandon Lyon (RHP, TOR) and David Carpenter (RHP, HOU) in a 10-player interleague trade with HOU. Long-time former closer Francisco Cordero (RHP, HOU) and reserve Ben Francisco (OF, HOU) are the only MLB players leaving TOR, along with four minor-leaguers and a player to be named later.

Lyon and Carpenter join a wounded TOR bullpen which has lost closer Sergio Santos (RHP, TOR) to season-ending shoulder surgery, and middle-relief mainstay Carlos Villanueva (RHP, TOR) to an injury-plagued starting rotation.
