Season ends for Sergio Santos

Sergio Santos (RHP, TOR) has decided to have season-ending surgery to repair his labrum after feeling continued discomfort during his rehabilitation work. Santos' rotator cuff is reportedly OK, and he is expected to be ready for Spring Training 2013, when he will theoretically be given an opportunity to compete to reclaim the closer role for the Blue Jays.

It may not be easy, however, given the performance of Casey Janssen (RHP, TOR), who is a perfect 13-for-13 in save opportunities since taking over for Santos.
