Halladay to miss 6-8 weeks

Much to the dismay to those who bought into the early line that the shoulder injury of Roy Halladay (RHP, PHI) was not too serious, the team announced May 29 that the 2010 Cy Young Award winner would be sidelined for the next six to eight weeks with a lat strain. If there is any silver lining to the news, it is that Halladay's shoulder showed no structural damage. In addition, while Halladay said that the strain was not a new issue, the injury had not affected his performance too much this season, with Halladay's xERA a half-run lower than his actual ERA due in part to a a 66% S%. In other words, assuming he can get healthy, owners should still be able to get two-plus months of elite...
