Martin injury earns Wallner a return to Minnesota

NEWS: Minnesota placed INF/OF Austin Martin on the injured list and recalled OF Matt Wallner from Triple-A St. Paul.
IMPACT: Low 
BHQ SPIN: Wallner (+5%), who opened the 2024 season with Minnesota, hit just .080 in 25 AB before getting sent to St. Paul, was inserted into the starting lineup Sunday and went 1-for-1 with a walk.  He returns to Minnesota on the heels of earning the IL’s Player of the Month honor for June after slashing .324/.403/.724 with 12 HR and 28 RBI. Wallner will be battling Manuel Margot for backup OF at-bats. Martin (-5%) has slashed .265/.331/.372 with 1 HR and 9 RBI in 113 AB before the injury.
