Kim returns to Atlanta

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Atlanta Braves
NEWS: Atlanta re-signed shortstop Ha-Seong Kim to a one-year, $20 million contract.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: Atlanta acquired Kim at the trade deadline after he missed most of the 2025 season with first shoulder and then back injuries. Many had expected Kim to exercise a $16 million option to stay with the Braves. Instead he declined the option, a gamble that has earned him an additional $4 million. Kim has been an excellent defender, and Atlanta is hoping he approaches his 2023 career offensively season: 17 homers, 38 steals, and .238 xBA. We’ve bumped Kim’s playing time and adjusted that of Mauricio Dubón, who can fill in all over and also should see some DH time.
