NEWS: Houston signed OF/1B LaMonte Wade Jr. to a one-year deal and optioned OF Zach Cole to the minors. The team also activated OF Joey Loperfido from his rehab assignment and optioned him to Triple-A, and recalled C Collin Price and designated C César Salazar for assignment.

BHQ SPIN: Wade, who exercised an opt-out in his AAA contract with the Chicago White Sox earlier this week, slides right into the Astros OF picture, giving the team a veteran LH bat. The power ceiling is low, but he gets on base (.420 OBP with AAA-Charlotte in 2026) and provides some stability and length in that Houston lineup.
