BHQ SPIN: After a flurry of activity at the trade deadline, Baltimore clarified its outfield picture with its decisions to option Kjerstad and designate Pache for assignment to make room to activate trade deadline acquisitions Eloy Jiménez and Austin Slater. The demotion of Kjerstad, who had seen a downturn in playing time of late (5 starts in 12 games) clears the way for Colton Cowser and Cedric Mullins to receive regular playing time against right-handed starters in the outfield.
