NEWS: The White Sox activated 1B Munetaka Murakami from the 10-day IL and optioned 1B Jacob Gonzalez to Triple-A Charlotte.

BHQ SPIN: Murakami returned after missing six weeks with a Grade 2 hamstring strain. Murakami was hitting .240 (.378 OBP) with 20 home runs, 41 RBI, one stolen base, and 43 runs scored in 246 plate appearances when he went down with the injury. In his stead, Chicago had promoted Gonzalez, who hit .244 with two home runs and 17 RBI over that span, but had only two hits in July with more sporadic playing time. The Sox desperately need Murakami’s presence back in their lineup, as they have struggled for offense lately while trying to keep pace with the Cleveland...
