NEWS: Washington activated RHP Clayton Beeter from the 15-day IL and optioned LHP PJ Poulin to the minors.

BHQ SPIN: Beeter spent more than three weeks on the IL with forearm discomfort and will return after a brief IL stint. He had been deployed as the club’s closer prior to the injury, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he had to earn back the trust of his manager to take the role over full-time or if they went with a closer committee. If we see the latter, expect him to split save opportunities with Gus Varland and Richard Lovelady.
