DAILY MATCHUPS: Javier part of a deep pool of mound talent pitching on Wednesday

Today's Overview/Schedule/Weather: Fourteen games dot the Wednesday schedule. The Cubs and Pirates are idle. A bevy of top-shelf hurlers get the nod, and the Matchup Ratings are tinged a deep green for a couple rungs at the top. Weather-wise, Wednesday sets up as a mostly dry day. Minor precipitation is expected in Cincinnati (MIA@CIN) and Detroit (SD@DET). A double-dight (mph) batter’s wind is expected for Wednesday’s NYY@NYM test at Citi Field.

Notable Starts:

Cristian Javier owns a 3.03 ERA over his last seven starts and a 3.04 ERA across his last five turns against the Oakland Athletics. Oakland is bad overall; the A’s are a level below that against right-handers. Javier owns a 15.3 Dom over his last four starts.
