DAILY MATCHUPS: Dodgers-Cubs highlights a seven-game slate

Today's Overview/Schedule/Weather: Thursday brings a light MLB slate with seven games. Look for warmed-up weather at the venues in play. Some rainy, windy conditions are expected at Wrigley Field (LA@CHC), but the rest of the action should be played in rain-free conditions. A hefty batter’s wind – upwards of 15 mph – is expected in San Francisco (NYM@SF). The tumble of rotations makes for a fat-in-the-middle day with few top-shelf choices.

Tanner Houck has been getting a lot of ground balls (67% GB), but he’s been hurt by an 18.2% HR/F. The fourth-year MLBer is facing a scuffling Minnesota offense (.600 OPS last nine games), but he’s coming off a four-walk game and a dodgy Grapefruit League line (9.74 ERA, 1.92 WHIP)....
