Ben Sheets (RHP, ATL) reportedly will make his first MLB appearance in two years on July 15, likely replacing one of ATL's inconsistent young starters, Randall Delgado (RHP, ATL) or Mike Minor (LHP, ATL). Jair Jurrjens (RHP, ATL), whose surface numbers since his return from a minor-league demotion belie his shaky underlying skills, seems unlikely to be bumped. Sheets has a strong skills history, though his Dom and Cmd faded in recent years as he battled a series of injuries.

Vance Worley (RHP, PHI) started strong his rookie season with a sub-3.00 ERA through June. He may have tailed off a bit as summer wore on, but an ERA just over 3.00 set expectations high for his sophomore season. The 24-year-old hasn't disappointed.

Nick Markakis was activated from the DL, and is expected to resume his duties as the team's starting right fielder when the Orioles resume action after the All-Star break. He has been sidelined since late May due to a broken hamate bone. Also, Lorenzo Cain set to return, Dillon Gee on the DL, and more...

Baseball royalty arrived in Detroit this past offseason when Prince Fielder (1B, DET) signed with the Tigers. With a starting gig in the All Star game, Fielder is clearly popular with the fans; he’s certainly added a solid bat to the Tigers’ lineup.
