F/F SPOTLIGHT: Trea Turner

Trea Turner (SS, PHI) has earned $28 or more (15-team mixed 5x5) in each of the past five seasons, and $38 or more in each of the last three. As of now, though, he sits at $16 in value. He’s on a pace for 34 SB, which is within his normal range, though league-wide, stolen bases are up 40% so far in 2023, and he’s (so far) not been part of the speed explosion.

The rest of his production, however, is well below what we expect of him. His current .249 BA, if it holds, would be his lowest since 2018, by almost 50 points. That doesn’t just hit his BA value—it reduces his SB opportunities. His HR total would also be the lowest since 2017, aside from the COVID season.
