F/F SPOTLIGHT: Rick Porcello

This past offseason, Boston acquired RHP Rick Porcello from Detroit in exchange for Yoenis Céspedes, in an exchange of two players who were slated to be free agents following the 2015 season. Then, just as the season started, the Red Sox and Porcello agreed to a four-year, $82.5MM contract extension. At first glance, that looks like a bold commitment to a pitcher who has posted an ERA better than league-average in just two of his six big-league seasons. His results so far in 2015 (4-4, 5.37 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) haven't exactly justified the contract, either.
