The final month of the 2014 minor league season is upon us, and it's time to take an early look to see how some of the top prospects in the 2014 draft have started their careers. It’s important to note that for most 2014 draft picks the sample size is too small to draw any definitive conclusions. For example, the Marlins' Tyler Kolek, the second overall pick in the draft, has logged just 11.1 innings in the GCL, so it's unfair to read anything into his 4.76 ERA. The sample size is just too small, and as a recent high school graduate this is probably his first prolonged stint away from home.
