With the spring training position battles settled, we turn our attention to handicapping the likely candidates for the 2014 AL and NL Rookie of the Year Awards.
In 2013 the Miami Marlins' Jose Fernandez put together a season for the ages. In 28 starts the Cuban phenom was 12-6 with a miniscule 2.19 ERA. He struck out 187 batters, walked just 58 and limited opposing hitters to a .198 batting average. In the American League, the sweet-swinging Wil Myers started the year in the minors, but made quite an impact after being called up in mid-June.
