After placing SS Marcus Semien on the disabled list, the Athletics summoned the versatile services of the 26-year-old Pinder from Triple-A. He was splitting time at both middle infield spots this year and also saw action in the outfield during spring workouts. The right-handed hitter earned a major league call-up in 2016 after another solid season. His versatility may be his best asset, but he is a fundamentally sound hitter who can hit for a moderately-high BA with average power.
